DONATO - Chair would like to take this opportunity to introduce, well, in Longmeadow, we're thrilled to celebrate a monumental achievement by the Longmeadow boys cross country team. On Saturday, November 16th, 2024, day that rely in infamy in Longmeadow, they made history by securing their first ever state title, and they did so with incredible depth and teamwork. The team tops five finishes, crossed the line in 18th, 20th, 1st, 5th, and 37th, accumulating 101 points more than 30 points ahead of the runner-up, Marblehead in a competitive field of 23 teams. The seven athletes who made this victory possible are Jacob AB, Matt Cornier, Spence Deloso, Ethan Halpin, Greg Keane, Andrew Maderas, and Henry Sacco. This remarkable achievement is a testament to their relentless dedication and hard work, and they should be immensely proud of their success knowing that their hard work and determination paid off.
The Representative from Longmeadow thanks you for your hard work and we have refreshments up in 437, I think it's a steak dinner and some other kinds of good things. We also have guests, the Chair would like to recognize, seated in the House chamber, the Division 3 State Champion, Nipmuc Girls Soccer Team. The team who triumphantly defeated Medfield one to nothing in the finals, was led by 100 goal scorer, Keia Montano, who scored the game winning goal in the 67th minute of action, securing the Nipmuc program for their first state title since 2014. The champions are here as guests of Representative Meridian, Representative Murray, and as well, Senator Fattman. Welcome to the House of Representatives.
