Their coaches and athletic director are here with us today. We are delighted to honor their third consecutive MIAA division 2 girls volleyball state championship win. The team emerged victorious against Oliver Ames High School after a season of hard work, perseverance, and dedication. The members of the Westborough Girls Varsity Volleyball team demonstrate remarkable sportsmanship, and bring honor to their community and the Commonwealth. REP CHAN - Good afternoon. Thank you, Mr. Chair, for allowing me this opportunity to come up. On behalf of210 the House Asian Caucus, we'd like to take212 a moment to recognize the Lunar New Year. With that, Mr. Chan of Quincy, Mr. Wong of Saugus, Mr Wing of Andover, Miss Howard of Lowell, Miss Idaho of Somerville, miss Sangiolo of Newton, and Mr. Hong of Lowell would like to recognize on Wednesday, Jan. 9, the new year of the lunar calendar began. The lunar calendar is the second oldest continuously used calendar in the236 world, with this year marking at 4723rd year. Many Asian cultures, including Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean, celebrate the lunar year as a time to spend with family sharing happiness and good fortune. The lunar calendar is set in a 12-year cycle using 12 different zodiac animals to symbolize each year. This year is the year of the snake, the sixth animal of the 12-year cycle. Persons born in the year of265 the snake were observant, mysterious, wise, and passionate about how they approach life. This270 year is expected to be a year of transformative change.
